Our instructor Jon Sinclair‘s journey towards fulfilling his dream to become a pilot took longer than expected, as he started his training when he was 31 years old. But his perseverance and hard work paid off and now he is an experienced commercial pilot who can shares his knowledge with other pursuing the same dream.
Since the pandemic, Jon has been teaching at a university in West London, where he has discovered a new passion in imparting his knowledge and experience to the next generation of aviation professionals. He admits that at the beginning of his flying career, he didn’t fully appreciate the various aspects of aviation beyond just flying a plane. But his experience in education and healthcare, where he had to work one-on-one with people and give presentations, prepared him for his new role as a lecturer.
As someone who has experienced the thrill of flying firsthand, Jon believes that the pandemic has forced the aviation industry to adapt and embrace online teaching, which has its own benefits, such as flexibility in terms of study times and engaging multimedia resources. He sees this as a positive step towards improving the accessibility of aviation education and training for aspiring pilots and aviation professionals.
Jon is excited to continue inspiring and educating his students and you can become one of them by taking his course “Human Factors in Aviation”. But before that, get to know Jon better by watching his Expert Talk.
